FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

The weekly meetng of the Hope of Dunedin Lodge, No. 135, 1.0.Ct.T., was held in the Good Templar Hall, Princes street, last Wednesday. C.T. Bro. C. South presided over a large attendance of members. A hearty welcome was extended to several old members. Sister Gain informed the members of Miss Jennie Street’s visit this month. It was decided that members of the lodge should pay an official visit to the Hope of Caversham Lodge in the near future. After the conclusion of business, the lodge was closed, and the following members gave items:— Bro. Allpress, Sister Gain, Sister Steedman, jun., Bro, Gore, Bro. Charles South. Sister Anthony, sen., Bro. Kevsley, and Sister Webster.—The Silver Star Juvenile Temple, No. 0, met the same evening, with S.J.W. Sister Smith, sen., in charge. A large number of children were in attendance, Three new members wore initiated. C.R Bro. Davies presided over a larsm attendance of members and visitors at the last meeting of Court Little John Official visits were received from Court Pride of the Leitli and King Edward’s Pride. The report of the judges on the recent competition was received and showed Court Little John to be in a good position. The toast of visitors was responded to by C.R. Bro. John (Pride of the L«ith) and Bro. Walton (Court King Edward Pride). After the usual business had been disposed of, a social hour was spent in dancing and cards, and several members and visitors contributed items.
