LIQUOR IN WASHINGTON
ARRESTS FOR DRUNKENNESS. SEVERAL THOUSAND LAST YEAR. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, July 8. (Received July 8, at II p.m.) A total of 50 murders and 400 deaths from street accidents during the year just ended forms the highest record ever known in the nation’s capital- city. Fourteen thousand people wore arrested under the Shepherd Law, which makes being intoxicated a crime.—Australian Press Association.
