WORKS IN PROGRESS. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 6. The report submitted to the last meeting of the Main Highways Board by the main highways engineer . (Mr H. Tyndall) included the following details:— Pukeuri-Kurow. —Knrow Creek bridge: The superstructure has been completed. Dunedin-Christchurch (No. 16 Highway District).—Kilmog section: Formation work on this section / is now completed. Mount Cargill section: Five miles and ahalf of bitumen spraying has been completed. Timaru Crossing: Work is proceeding on the protection fence along the new - bank. Kartigi - Beach protection works: Railway siding is .finished- and work has been commenced on the rock toe and filling. Dunedin-Invercargill (No. 17 Highway District). —Dunedin-Henley: The formation was completed from 13 iniles 35 chains p to 14 miles and from 15 miles to 15 miles 40 chains The deviation at 14 miles 40 chains was completed and opened to traffic. The “deviation at 15 miles is nearing completion and the deviation 14 miles to 14 miles 30 chains will be completed shortly. Four culverts have been put in. The metalling was completed from 11 miles 48 \ chains to 12 miles 58 chains. The quarry is now in full operation. Dunedin-Portobello (low road).—Two . miles of formation work has now been , completed in readiness for bituminous surface. Work on Company’s Bay deviation is proceeding satisfactorily. .
