INTOXICATED MOTORISTS.

CAR STEERS ERRATIC COURSE. DRIVER PINED AND LICENSE CANCELLED. (Per United Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, May 4. William Martin Kelly appeared before justices of the peace on two charges of being found in a state of intoxication while he was in charge of a motor car, while his wife was charged with being found drunk. Owing to the erratic course which the car' was steering the police followed it, and when it stopped in a side street the driver and his wife were found to be in a drunken condition. In the other instance Kelly, while drunk, on April 1, collided with a Gisborne car through being on the wrong side of the street. The police sergeant said that Kelly was a menace on the. road, not only to himself, but to other people. Kelly was convicted and fined £lO on the first charge, and his license was cancelled for three, months. On the other charge he was convicted and discharged on payment of ICs costs. The wife was convicted and discharged on the charge of drunkenness. Both were prohibited for twelve months. TINE OP £lO IMPOSED, (Spectai. to Dailt Times., 1 WANGANUI, May 4. A man named Sidney Charles Humphrey was to-day fined £lO and costs for being in a state of intoxication in the Avenue while in charge of a motor car.
