KING’S CONVALESCENCE
LEAVING BOGNOR SOON. MONTH AT WINDSOR CASTLE, (British Official Wireless.) (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) RUGBY, May 3. It is now. stated that the King will leave Craigwell House, Bognor, for Windsor Castle on May 17. The journey will be made by motor car during the morning, Windsor being reached in time for luncheon. The court will remain in Windsor Castle for about a month, going from there to Sandringham House, Norfolk. A plan had been under consideration for the King to proceed first to Buckingham Palace to give the people of London a chance to greet him, but this has been abandoned because of the fatigue it would involve for his Majesty. THE THANKSOFFERING FUND, SECOND GIFT FROM LLOYD’S. RUGBY, May 3. (Received>May 5, at 5.5 p.m.) The Thanksoffering Fund for the King’s convalescence now amounts to over £130,000, apart from the £105,000 promised by “ Audax.” Of this sum, which has been subscribed in four days, £123,000 is earmarked for the National Radium Fund. Yesterday’s contribution included a second gift of £IO,OOO from Lloyd’s, whose first contribution was £15,000.
