BRITISH SERVICE TO AFRICA. SUBSIDY FROM RHODESIA. (British Official Wireless.) (United Ptegs Association., (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) RUGBY, May 2. Sir Samuel Hoare (Secretary of State for Air) stated in the House of Commons that the Government of Southern Rhodesia had expressed its willingness to arrange for a contribution of £IO,OOO a year for a period of five years towards the cost of the projected air service between this country and South Africa. The South African Government had undertaken to provide a substantial portion of the required subsidy, and offers to contribute had also been received from the Administrations of Sudan, Kenya, Tanganyika, and Uganda. As a result of the ready co-operation on the part of the Administrations mentioned the finances of the service were assured. BRITISH AIRSHIPS. FIRST READY THIS MONTH. RUGBY, May 2. In the House of Commons, the Air Minister (Sir Samuel Hoare) stated that airship RIOO was expected to be ready for her trial by about the end of May and RlOl about the end of June. AUSTRALIAN AVIATORS. ARRIVAL AT BAGDAD. BAGDAD, May 1. Flying-officer Moir and Artificer Owen arrived at Bagdad from Cairo after a nine and a-half hour non-stop flight great heat.
