FLOOD RELIEF.
THE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. REPORTS NEARLY COMPLETED. A number of reports from members of the Master Builders’ Association, who are assessing the structural damage done by the recent flood, come before the Flood Relief Committee yesterday morning. The Deputy Mayor (Mr J. S. Douglas) , who presided, said that the return# had almost been completed, and, with four reports to come in, the amount of damage was £3194. The master builders had gone to a great deal of trouble, giving their services gratuitously, and the committee was indebted to them for their efforts. The Rev. V. G. Bryan-King: This has saved us hundreds of pounds. It was decided to leave the reports in the hands of the chairman and Mr E. R. Grace, who will put them in order and consider the. circumstances of the residents. Their report will be submitted to a full meeting of the committee on Tuesday morning. The damage to linoleum has already been assessed at £2620, and the committee will begin the work of assessing the damage to turniture on VYednesday next. It.was reported that the relief fund amounted to £9469 16s 6d. Accounts amounting to £4OO .10s 9d were passed for payment.
