In the House of Commons, Commander Kenworthy asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether, in view of the proposals for naval limitation' and reduction made at Geneva by the American delegate, it was proposed to retain the present programme of warship construction in Britain. Mr Bridgeman replied that the work of shipbuilding would proceed. It was not, however, proposed to lay down the ships of the 1929 programme until towards the end of the financial year. Commander Kenworthy asked whether the Minister would not delay further expenditure on these ships until Britain knew where she stood as regards the future. .
