STUDY OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE^ ; MEDAL FOR BEST ESSAY. (British Official Wireless.) (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.), . RUGBY, May 1. Xae Japan Society in London, which for over 30 years has been a social meeting ground for British and Japanese lias offered to the Imperial University of Tokio_a gold medal, struck at the Hoyal Mint, to be awarded annually to the student who submits the best essay ©n some subject connected with the study of the English language or literature. The medal will to-morrow be presented by the Duke of Gloucester, who is at present in Japan, to the Imperial University. He will also present 250 handsome volumes of Shakesperian studies, In rewignitlon of the Japanese appreciation jpf Shakespeare, a complete translation of whose works into Japanese has been accomplished by Dr Tsubouchi.
