Tiro extent to which certain people are prepared to risk their lives in order to provide kinema sensations has just been exemplified at Marseilles by Lucien Noel Fabry. Fabry, who is 20 years of age. went to the Alarseilles transporter bridge, accompanied by camera men ami a number of spectators, and obtained authority to take photographs from the top of the bridge. Suddenly, after Fabry bad reached the top of the bridge, he flung off his coat and dived into the river, 250 ft below. As he took this dangerous plunge (be camera man photographed his dive. But Fabry did not immediately come to the surface, and fishermen went in search of him, while two Customs officers dived into the river to his rescue One of the latter brought him unconscious to the bank, and be was immediately carried off to hospital in a very dangerous condition. He had prepared tor his dangerous exploit by covering- his head and breast with sheets of rubber, but this protection proved insufficient.
