COLLISION IN AUCKLAND. OFFENDING MOTORIST FINED. (Special to Daily Times.* / AUCKLAND, May 1. ■ A collision with the Governor-General’s car in Queen street on ' the evening of April 10 resulted in the appearance of F. Beehan at the'Magistrate’s Court this morning'on a charge of' dangerous ingAccording to Mr G. M. Hogan, the chief traffic officer, his JSscellency was on liia, way to the Town Hall, and his car had just turned across Queen street to draw up before tlie door when Beehan, who was travelling down Queen street, collided with it. He struck the Vice-Regal car by the rear wheels, but did little damage. Mr Wallace, who appeared for Beehan, was of opinion that his client was unfortunate. Counsel considered that'had it been any other car but the GovernorGeneral’s nothing would have been heard of the incident. Mr Hogan assured the court that a charge would have ■ been brought whoever the owner-of the damaged ear had been, Beehan was fined 10s, and costs.
