PARIS, April 30. {Received May 1, at 5.5 p.m.) The police, in anticipation of May Day disturbances, arrested 300 of the most militant Communists as a precautionary measure.—Australian Press Association. ' COMMUNISTS IN GERMANY. DETERMINED TO DEMONSTRATE. BERLIN, April 30. (Received May 1, at 7.5 p.m.) Everything is ready for a pitched battle between 13,000 police and 12,000 Communists at least that is the -impression to bo gained from the newspapers. The Communists insist that they will demonstrate in spite of the prohibition. Car loads of police are patrolling the city all night long.—Australian Press Association. THE HAND OF MOSCOW. AGENT ARRESTED IN PARIS. PARIS, May 1. (Received May 2, at 1 a.m.) The French police have arrested a Soviet secret agent, Bespaloff, who. was arranging for the repatriation of Russian “ exiles.” Bespaloff was found in possession of Moscow’s orders instructing him to take command of the Communist demonstrations which have been planned for weeks past. Dudillieux, secretary of the Communist Trade Union Federation, who has been collaborating with Bespaloff, was also arrested.—Australian Press Association. BIG PARADE IN TOKIO. The police precautions were elaborate, but no disturbances have been reported. Rain damped the enthusiasm of the few spectators. (Received May 1, a,t 9 p.m.) During conflicts between Communists and the police two policemen were murdered. One was shot dead and the other stabbed in the neck.—United Service; '
