Alter a nine-days’ trial judgment was entered for £3OOO against Dr Joseph Downing for serious injuries inflicted upon John Stout, who alleged that, as a result of the negligent use of X-ray treatment he was seriously burnt and incapacitated. THE GENERAL ELECTION. POLLING BOOTHS ON TRAINS. BRISBANE, May 1. Polling booths will be established on the railway trains travelling over the main lines of the State on polling day for the general election on May 11. This plan has never before been tried In Australia.
