DOGS KEPT IN HOUSE.
DAMAGES AGAINST TENANT, {Per United Press , Association.) . AUCKLAND,: May 1, In'the Magistrate’s Court to-day Mr E, C. Gotten, SAL, gave judgment for £62 4s 6d, the full amount claimed by G. W. Crocombe, an architect, against Maurice Guttridge, music conductor, being £sl- 5s fld damages to a house tenanted by the do-’ fondant, the balance being for overdue rent and water rates. The plaintiff had been put to expense -in having the house fumigated and the floors scraped to remove odorous matter caused by dogs being shut up in it.’ Three rooms had to be repapered 'through damage done by the dogs. Guttridge, it-war stated, kept two large dogs to protect him against some man whom counsel understood had a private grievance against the' defendant. The dogs were often shut up for hours without toad.'
