PRESIDENCY OF MADRAS

The King has approved of the appointment of George Stanley to be Governor of the Presidency of Madras in succession to Viscount Goschen, whose tenure of office will expire, in the autumn. ' Lieutenant-co.onel the Right Hon. George Frederick Stanley has. been Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Pensions since 1924. He represents Willesden East in the House of Commons, He served in the European War 'from 1914 to 1918, and was mentioned in despatches. Colonel Stanley is the sixth son of the Earl of Derby. ”
