FLIGHT AROUND THE WORLD. REFUELLING IN THE AIR. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, April 29. Lieutenant Albert Hulse, with Mr Lyon (who was one of the crew of the Southern Cross when it flew from San Francisco to Brisbane), and four other internationally known aviators, plans to leave New York on the first clear day in September and begin a flight around the world—l3,soo miles—refuelling in the air at 22 stations, 10 of which are only for emergencies. The details, which have been kept secret for over six months, are expected to be announced shortly. It is reported that the flight is backed by 500,000 dollars, and will cost approximately 385,000 dollars.—Australian Press Association, THE ROUTE OUTLINED. WASHINGTON, April 29. (Received April 30, at 11.30 p.m.) Mr Lyon announced that he and Lieutenant Hulse will be accompanied by Captain Lancaster and SquadronLeader Kiugsford-Smith, and they will fly in a tri-motored plane, which is now under construction in California. The plane will leave Pasadena (California), and will fly to New York, thence .to London, after which, with several intervening stops, it will fly to Yokohama, thence to Guam, Honolulu, and California.—Australian Press Association, • PARACHUTE FAILS TO OPEN. AVIATOR DASHED TO DEATH. LONDON, April 29. When making his last compulsory service flight prior to returning to civil life, Lieutenant Flin encountered engine trouble, and went into a nose spin. He jumped clear, but his parachute failed to open, and he fell like a stone, and died instantly.—Australian Press Association.
