LAWN TENNIS.
MEETING OF OTAGO ASSOCIATION, A meeting of the Otago Lawn Tennis Association was held last evening. Mr A, M'Millan presided. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Asao•lation wrote giving particulars in connection with the junior tournament to beheld in Wellington on May 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18.—It was resolved that the following be nominated:—Miss Helen Cox (St. Hilda), Miss Betty Fraser (Columba), Miss Betty Blamires as reserve, and Masters 0. W. Chapman and J, L. D. Ritchie (Otago Boys’ High School) and R. J. Souter (Taieri Lawn Tennis Club) reserve. Mr E. Fletcher Roberts, the association’s engineer, forwarded estimates in connection with the laying down of courts at Logan Park.—lt was left in the hands of the Works Committee to arrange for the lay out of the courts and to arrange for calling for tenders for laying down 18 asphalt courts immediately. It was reported that the Moana Club' bad won the A Grade bannei, Cosy Dell the B Grade, and Taieri the C Grade, and it was resolved to get in all the banners and have the winners’ names placed on them. Accounts amounting to £l9O were passed for payment. It was resolved that the Ayers Slazengers, Davis, and Jaques’s balls be approved of for the coming season,-the ball to be adopted for tournaments being held over till a future meeting. It was resolved that a special vote of thanks be accorded to Mr T. Begg for his work in connection with the Easter tournament. and the secretary was instructed to send Mr Begg a letter expressing the committee’s appreciation of his services It was resolved to write the Ladies’ Committee thanking it for its services in connection with the afternoon tea arrangements for the representative matches played in Dunedin during the past season
