YOUNG GOLFER INJURED.
LOSES SIGHT OF ONE E?E. (Peb Untied Pubes Association.) HAWERA, April. 27. A painful accident occurred at the Fairfield golf links, Hawera, when the youngest member of the club, Geoffrey Dalgetty, 1 aged 14, a son of G. A. Dalgetty, lost the sight of his right eye on making a drive at a ball. Immediately Dalgetty' had .made his practice shot from the fairway, the lad felt something strike his eye. * From that moment his sight failed. It is surmised that the golf club struck a piece of stone or wood, and a fragment flew into his eye.
