As a protest against the State and municipal charity taxes, which are declared to be crippling the industry, the National Theatre Congress at Nice resolved to close all the French theatres, throwing out of work 100,000 persons. The resolution will operate on Slay 15 unless Parliament is summoned specially to give relief by amending legislation.
