LADIES’ RACE TICKETS.
10 THE EDITOR. Sir,—l noticed that there was a discussion recently at a meeting of one of the racing clubs respecting the. issue of ladies' tickets and the general ojinion seemed to be that an admission of 2b 6d should be chained. I' am sure no lady -will object to such a charge. When I visited Waikouatti race meeting on New Year's Day, however, I was charged 6s Cd in all, and that, I consider, an exorbitant price to pay. When we left the Eailway station, Is 6d was demanded for permission to cross the paddock, and on arrival at the racecourse an additional 5s was asked When we got inside the course there was no stand of any description or shelter shed;- There were merely a few forms in the open. After the fourth-or fifth race all the folk who were wise enough to remain outside until then, were allowed to enter free. I am certain I shall in future give this meeting n "wide berth." I am, etc., Once Bitten Twice Shy.
