CAPTAIN CAMPBELL FAILS. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyrlgnt.) CAPETOWN, April 26. • Captain Campbell, after his further attempt on the speed record, said he was confident that if the track had been better he would have beaten Major Segrave’s record. The car, leaping 30 feet or 40 feet interfered with the running times, consequently the speed was lower than on his previous attempt.— Australian Press Association. MAJOR SEGRAVE KNIGHTED. LONDON, April 27. (Received April 28, at 5.5 p.m.) The King knighted Major Segrave at Craigweil House.
