RELATIONS WITH IRAQ. PROMOTION OF COMMON INTERESTS. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) . RUGBY, April 26. Persia yesterday accorded recognition to Iraq, this development being officially announced in a cordial message trans mitted from the Persian Prime Minister to the Iraq Prime Minister, expressing a desire that the relations of the two countries shall be founded on strong and sincere friendship and common interests, and that the . matters pending shall be settled by mutual goodwill. The Persian colony in England cele brated yesterday the anniversary of thcoronation of the Shah (Riza Pahlevi), and at night the Persian Minister held a reception which was largely attended by foreign friends of Persia. The Manchester Guardian, commenting on the anniversary, says the forward movement fn Persia is being watched with much satisfaction by Great Britain, which is particularly pleased at the las! development in the direction of the rccog n-ition by Persia of Iraq.—Australian Press Association.
