FORBURY PARK TROTTING CLUB.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Your report of the meeting of the committee of the Forbury Park Trotting Club would be amusing reading were the matter not so serious. The simulated indignation of certain owners and stewards at tho iniquitous writings of certain ■■eporters was a good “bluff” to put before the public—as big a “ bluff ” as some of -he races run lately, I have a good knowledge of sporting reporters, and, fortunately, they have too much knowledge of trotting to suit some of the officials in the clubs. It must be remembered that it is the general public that pays when there is team driving. It does not get any gilded tips. Let the owners and stewards take their plates in the outside enclosure amongst the general ruck of tho public and do their betting from there, and wo would soon have a louder outcrv than there is now. The Forbury Park Committee had better have let the matter rest than have made the stupid remarks nttribiited to them by your paper. The public will not be impressed.—l am, etc., Clean Stout.
