(Feb United Press Association.) 1 HAMILTON, February 14. Hospital charges were discussed at a meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board to-day. A remit to the coming conference suggesting a uniform charge of 12s a day being disapproved. The board resolved that 9s, as now .charged, was sufficient. The board authorised extensions and the purchase of equipment of a total cost of £23,850. The board passed the plans for a maternity block to cost £12,000. ,
GISBORNE, February 14. jTwo sections, comprising consolidated Crown intersts in native blocks on the east coast, have been submitted for selection, but only one application ~ was received for- each. The sections are 1700 and 1200 acres respectively, and represent a very fair class of coast land. Fire completely destroyed H. Williams’s store at Waipiro Bay this morning. There is no indiction how the outbreak started, and no appliances were available to suppress the Barnes. The stock was insured for £IOOO in the New Zealand office, and the building, owned by A. W. Kirk, was insured for £750 in the South British.
