OFFICIALS APPOINTED,

BLENHEIM, February 13,
The Marlborough Aero Club has appointed Mr J. H. Preston, of Miramar, Wellington, as ground engineer out of nine applicants. Mr Preston, who will he granted the Government’s full ground engineer’s license for light planes, had six and a-half years’ experience as an engineer in the British R.A.F., during which time he was engaged on the engines of the famous airships R 33 and R3O. and also on multi-engined flying boats and general aircraft. Captain N. E. Chandler, the club’s pilot instructor, has formally commerced his duties. The club anticipates that it will commence flying operations next week. Trainees are being enrolled from ns far north as Martinhorough. t
