PRIMARY PRODUCTION
BUTTER AND CHEESE GRADINGS. RECORD SEASON ASSURED. (Per United Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, February 13. The Danncvirke A. and P. Association’s show was concluded to-day in fine weather with a very large attendance, including the Minister of Agriculture (Mr G. W. Forbes), who paid his first visit to a show since his elevation to Ministerial rank, and the Minister of Public Works (Mr E. A, Ransom), who were entertained by the association. Both Ministers delivered short addresses to the crowd on the grand stand. Mr Forbes quoted the gradings of butter for export for the six months to the end of January and also the cheese .figures for a similar period. Ho said that provided fairly normal conditions were maintained for the remainder of the present season a new production record was assured. The export values of both butter and cheese were satisfactory this season. He referred to the sheep returns as showing the largest number recorded in the Dominion’s history and pointed out the continued increase in breeding ewes. Ho also made passing reference to the instructional and advisory services of the Government to assist all branches of rural industry and the facilities offered enabling fanners to avail themselves of all the latest knowledge in sound and practical agricultural science.
