On her maiden voyage to Australia the new Shaw, Savlll, and Albion Line motor ship Taranaki arrlvel at Sydney on November 26, It was hoped that the vessel would make the voyage at an' average speed of 14.75 knots, and for the-first portion of tho iourney, between London and Colombo, she maintained a speed of slightly more than 15 knots; hut after leaving Colombo, the ship ‘ ran into boisterous weather, and, encountering rough seas for the remainder of the, voyage from London to Melbourne at an average speed of 14.18 knots.
