The nominations for the Cornwell Cup, to be sailed at Lyttelton on January "19, are:—Takapuna, Manukau/ Wellington, Canterbury, (two), and Otago. A challenge froni Tauranga has .probably been delayed in transit. Ti Paul}. He states that the information contained in the telegram that Otago has'challenged is • incorrect. The Otago Association reaffirmed its decision at its last meeting. Mr Paul says he understands that a challenge was forwarded by the North-East Harbour Boating Club but as challenges can only bo made by the recognised associations where such exist, the challenge is not in.order. The rule bearing on the matter reads aafolv™r. Ia Pfk Port where there is a Yacht Association representing boating clubs the challenge must be made by the association and all other things to he done by the challenging body should be done by or through such association. Where there is no such, association the challenge may be made by recognised clubs representing the port.” 1
