TO THE EDITOR. Sin,—-On Saturday morning the writer and a friend walked down to the wharf to view tho boats that, were about to sail to the Antarctic. The Eleanor Bolling was being hurriedly loaded, and the wharf was much occupied by the various requirements for the expedition. While we were standing by a large cable of twisted n ire was thrown in a coiled , heap, so as to occupy^the only remaining passage way. Shortly afterwards a motor lorry came alone—it was not heavily laden, it may have been empty—but it simply ran ?u e f cab , le and passed on. The look that followed from the man in charge of the cable may be imagined.—l ain, etc. About 10 O'clock. ’
