DANGEROUS DRIVING.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, -I would like to call the attention ot the City Council to what appears to be a, dangerous and increasing practice—that of motor ears racing the tramcars.’ it a traracar stops at a crossing three or tour motor cars pull up. Th e moment *r an,oar starts then the race begins. All the cars have, at whatever cost, to race the tramcar before it gets to the next crossing. To put tlio matter plainly, our inam streets, where tramcars are running, are' .converted into speedway tracks. Instead of the corporation controlling the motor car traffic th e car traffic controls the corporation. If our city fathers camjot control the traffic the sooner we appoint a council that can do so the better. I give Our traffic inspectors every praise for the good work they do but they cannot be everywhere, and well the road hog” knows it. A some time ago the corporation erected a notice in Howe street, “Danger-Look-out for the tram, For all the good it !?> >1 might as well be phrased, “Speed hunt 100; miles an hour.” There-have been four accidents at this corner in a fortnight all through tlm speeding pf cars, Happily no one was hurt beyond a few scratches, hut other people who are not j C “.
