EARTHQUAKE IN CHILE
A HEAVY DEATH ROLL. THE PEOPLE PANIC-STRICKEN. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SANTIAGO, December 2. The death roll reached 122 on Saturday night, and 60 others are reported unofficially. Two hundred and fifty have been injured. The towns of Talca and Chilian are the greatest sufferers. Talca is in ruins, with 40 people dead and 200 injured. ' At Chilian there are 17 dead and 30 in-' jtired. . Forty people were killed and 100 injured at the Barohona camp at the, i’eniente mine belonging to the Braden Copper Company, when a shock broke the reservoir, letting a torrent loose down the valley. Six people are dead at Santa Cruz. Santiago and Valparaiso were only slightly damaged, but several people were injured in the panic-stricken rush to the streets. —Australian Press Association—United Service. A LATER MESSAGE. DETAILS OF CASUALTIES. SANTIAGO, December 2, (Received Doc. 3, at 10 p.m.) The casualty list on Sunday night from the earhquake disaster is 163 dead, exclusive of Constitecion, where 50 are believed to have been killed. The total of the injured is 344. At Talea 108 are dead, at Chilian 17, at Teniente 17, at Pelequrso 5, at Santa Cruz 13, at Curico 2, and at Mancagua I.—Australian Press .Association.
