(Per United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, October 10. In the Magistrate’s Court, Douglas Thomas Rodgers was sentenced to three months’ hard labour on seven charges of fai;.o pretences and issuing valueless cheques. Thomas Joseph Spalding was sentenced to two months’ on a charge of obtaining goods by false pretences at Okato and Palmerston North. CHRISTCHURCH, October 10. Owing to a deadlock between the parties the Conciliation Council to-day referred the dispute brought by the New Zealand Federated Moulders’ Association against, the Federated Ironmasters to the Arbitration Court. INVERCARGILL, October 10. A youth, 10 years of age, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to-day to a charge of forging a withdrawal slip for £6 (is on the Post Office Savings Bank at Invercargill. His name was suppressed, and he was committted to the Supreme Court for sentence.
