THREE MEN CHARGED

THE PROSECUTION FAILS

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 27. As the result of a disturbance at a social at Pukewai Bay three men —Charles Johansen, Frank Stewart, and George M. Lacey—were charged with behaving in a disorderly manner, using obscene language, and committing mischief to the value of £3. It was stated that the accused paid for admittance, and that there was free access to a quantity of beer. Accused used “ language,” and behaved in disorderly fashion, and during a fight a tray of glasses was broken. The magistrate (Mr E. Page! held that the place was not a public one, and that the mischief was not intentional. He dismissed the charges.
