ROSLYN-KAIKORAI RATEPAYERS.

The monthly executive meeting of the Roslyn-Kaikorai Ratepayers’ Association was attended by Messrs P. L. Ritchie (president), Ellis, Hunter, Sinclair, Paterson, Allen, Young. Bell, and Haigh. Correspondence was received from the town clerk advising improvements to drain crossing the playground in Kaikorai, improved storm-water drainage in Walton street, alteration to footway in Mardale and Hart streets; from the Darinage Board advising that, relative •to the condition of the Kaikorai Stream, notices were served on all occupiers of th< properties through which the stream passes to clear all obstructions from such stream, in default the board would carry out the work and charge the cost of it to them. The secretary of the Otago Harbour Board wrote advising that the policy' of the board had not been altered consequent on the purchase of the Port Chalmers wharves. It was resolved to write the town clerk concerning the proposed widening of Littlebourne road near Mr Morris’s property; the removal of the telephone box from the corner of Ross street and Highgate to a position in Belgrave crescent; improvements required on the west side of Beta street; a hand tail on the steps leading from Rectory road to Queen’s Drive; and improvements for footpaths in Ettrick street, Brockville road, and Eaikorai Valley load. The chairman was requested, to investigate the possibility of securing a playing area for the residents’ children on the northern boundary of the district near the Kaikorai football ground. The children’s playing area will shortly be top-dressed and put in good order.
