WEST COAST FARMERS’ VISIT.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —On behalf of the visitors from the Coast. I wish to express, through your columns, my sincere appreciation of all the kindness and hospitality extended to one and all of us during our recent visit to your city. Whilst it is impossible to mention everyone and detail all the kindness bestowed upon us. we particularly wish to thank his Worship the Mayor (Mr W. B. Taverner), together with representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, the Manufacturers’ Association, and other public bodies for their presence at the station at a late hour to welcome us upon our arrival; Sir John Roberts and the staff of the Mosgiel Woollen Milla_ for the great courtesy shown in our visit to the mills on the Taieri; Messrs R. Hudson and Co. for their kindness to the ladies in particular on a visit to their factory; the City Council for placing buses at our disposal; Mr A. Twaddle, manager of the Bushey Park Estate, for his hospitality on the occasion of our visit to that property; and, finally, Mr E. F. Duthie, of the Agricultural and Pastoral Society, and the Farmers’ Union for making this trip possible and giving us one of the best and most interesting trips that one could possibly have.—l am, etc., J.
