(Pee United Press Association.) GISBORNE, June 9. Herbert Hall Webb pleaded guilty at the Police Court to the theft of £ls, the property of the La Gloria Gramophone Company. Detective M'Leod intimated that other charges were pending involving £l4O/ to which the accused had said he would plead guilty. A remand till Monday was granted. INVERCARGILL, June 10. George Smith, labourer, aged 48, who was found on the steps of the police station at 6 o’clock on the morning of June 2 with wounds on his neck and wrist, appeared before the magistrate yesterday on a charge of attempted suicide. The Magistrate said that there was no evidence to support a conviction, and dismissed the charge.
