SERIES OF BURGLARIES.
OFFENDER CAUGHT IN ACT. OPERATING IN GUISE OF TINKER. (Pbb United Press Association.) CHRISTuHURCH. May 22. In the Magistrate’s Court Henry Patrick Moore, aged 38, pleaded guilty to eight charges of breaking and entering various houses early this month and committing theft. The police said that the accused travelled round as a tinker to gain entrance. He broke the leadlights over doors or windows, and then loosed the catch. In .ill. he had taken £IOO worth of goods and jewellery from eight houses. He was caught in the act at a Sydenham house. The accused was committed for sea* tence, no bail being applied for.
