(From Our Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA. Anril 16. , FOOTBALL. Clutha first fifteen travelled to Mosgiol on Saturday and in a keen game suffered defeat by the narrow iriargiu of 1 point by tho' Taieri Rovers. Scores: Taieri 6 points, Clutha 5 points. If anything, the visitors had the bettor of the .game, which was played in tho best of spirit. George Gallagher scored for Clutha, and Tinsley Wilson converted. Taieri's score was made up of two penalty goals. Clutha has got tho best set of backs it has had for years, and should do well when ; the South Otas;o competitions start. , VICTORY CELEBRATION. Tho Freezer Cricket Club intends to celebrate it* South Otago championship win bv a. club smoko concert and a victory ball, tho latter, being open to tho public.
