BODY FOUND IN HARBOUR. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 11. The body of a man aged about 50 was found shortly after 1 o’clock this afternoon floating in the harbour near the Western wharf. His coat and vest were found on the wharf about 100 yards away, and contained a Post Office bank book and also a membership ticket of the Auckland and Suburban Labourers’ Union made out to Drydcn Wardalc. The deceased apparently worked recently at Huia, as the last entry in the ban!: book was made at the Huia Post Office on February 20. The body had not been in the water long.

LORRY GOES OVER BANK. TWO PASSENGERS CRUSHED. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 10. Returning to Rawcne from a dance at the Waiotemarama Hail, a lorry driven by a man named M’Callum capsized over a bank while making room for a car to pass. Mrs Reuben and Miss Porn were badly crushed, and were brought to Rawene Hospital. The other passengers were slightly injured. FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 10. The death occurred in the hospital last evening of Mrs Maria Oemche. of Napier, who received spinal injuries through the capsize of a lorry on the razbrback between Pukekohc and Mercer on February 27. Her husband, who was driving, was uninjured. FOUND DEAD NEAR TUNNEL. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 10. A well-known surveyor, Mr Adam Kelly, was found dead at midnight on the city side of the Parnell railway funnel. He appeared to have met bis death by a fall, and not by being run over by a train. FALL FROM TRAM CAR. MARRIED MAN’S DEATH. (Special to Daily' Times.) WELLINGTON, March 11. Frederick Braddock, by trade a salesman, aged 60, residing at 83 Endeavour street, Lyall Bay, fell oft a tram at the intersection of Courts nd Boss streets, Kilbirnie, at 4.25 p.m. on Saturday, and .fractured his skull. He was taken to the hospital, where he died at 5.10 p.m. The deceased leaves a widow and five children. SERIOUS MOTOR ACCIDENT. (Per United Press Association.) GISBORNE, March 10. Advice has been received by Inspector O’Halloran of a serious motor collision last evening at Opotiki, resulting 'n injuries to a Maori. From the meagre details available it appears that the Maori was driving a lorry when it came into collision with a car. _ The Native suffered seriously, his injuries necessitating his removal to hospital, where his condition was found to be grave. In connection with the accident the police have arrested the driver of the ocher car. who was charged with being intoxicated while in charge of a car. His name was not disclosed. VICTIM OF ILL-HEALTH. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 10. With his throat cut Francis Woodham, aged 53, of 29 Godley avenue, Papanui, was found dead in a ditch in Winter’s road, Papanui, this afternoon. Woodham, who was a married man with a family, had been missing from his home since 10.30 a.m. last Saturday. He had been in ill-health, and it was thought that he had been distressed because of the tragedy in the home of the Fosters, wno lived next door.
