A condemned murderer, John Thomas Dunn, who- vvas hanged in England recently. spent the last week of his life in tending a wounded thrush which bad made its way into his cell. He related the story of the .thrush, which had damaged its wing, as the most pleasing incident in the last few months of h(s life. The bird stayed in his cell for nearly a week, and was fed regularly by the condemned man. Finally it recovered from its injury, and he allowed it to fly out of the cell window. Dunn, who was 53 years of age, and a miner, was sentenced for strangling his wife.
