DUNEDIN SUMMER MEETING.

TRACK WORK AT RICCARTON. (Special to Dailt Times.) CHRISTCHURCH, February 2.

The weather was fine for training operations at Riccarton this morning. All the work was done on the plough, and proceedings were not very exciting. Full Feather was going better than Sudden Storm at the end of six furlongs, the last five being run in Imin 3 2-ssec. It was an attractive effort, and both these horses should race well at the Dunedin meeting. Rapier covered nine furlongs, but he was going comfortably all the way. Front Rank was travelling very easily all through a six-furlong spin which occupied Imin 21see. Battle Colours and Don Jose were given strong pace work. Arikiwai easily defeated Assurance over a mile in Imin 45 l-ssec, a smart perform, ance. Arikiwai pulled up well, and unless trouble later he- will be a competitor at Wingatui next week, with W. Brown as his rider in the Dunedin Cup. Skyquest and Quarterdeck were associated over six furlongs, which they ran in Imin 19 3-ssec.

Limerick went once round, running home the last half-mile comfortably in 53sec. Zaragoza took Imin 52sec to cover a mile, but she was going comfortably all the wav.

Satrap and Luminant set out together for a mile gallop. The pace was on all the way, and Satrap finished up half a length in front after doing the journey in Imin 44sec and the last seven furlongs in Imin 30 3-ssec. It was a good gallop, done in attractive style. Satrap will be a starter in the Dunedin Cup, and will be ridden by D. Cotton. Countersign beat Rotor over six furlongs in Imin 17 l-ssec. Both horses shaped well, and they will go south for the Dunedin meeting. Money Order reeled off five furlongs in Imin 3 3-ssec, and appeared to be going comfortably at the finish. He is very well, and he will be hard to beat at Wingatui. Stormy covered a round, running the last half-mile in 52 2-ssec.

Honeycomb and Merivale took Imin 4 l-ssec for five furlongs. Footfall was sent about six furlongs, but he was going very easily all the way, taking Imin 23sec for the journey. Silver Coot showed plenty of dash while doing six furlongs in Imin 17sec. Magna. Charta and Amor Sprinted three furlongs in 39sec. It is probable that both these horses will go south for the Dunedin meeting. Rtarflight was restricted to useful pace work.

First Sight was under a strong pull throughout a working gallop over a mile, which occupied Imin 52sec. Nincompoop and Thomdnle were associated over six furlongs, which they left behind in Imin 16 3-sscc. It was a very attractive performance, the fastest of the morning over this distance, and Thorndale was going the better of the pair at the end. Margaret Birney covered seven furlongs in Imin 32sec, moving freely all the «ajf.
