LIMOGES TRAIN SMASH
DUE TO AN ACCIDENT. NO PLOT AGAINST MR COSGRAVE. (Free* a -delation—Ej Telegraph— Copyright.) OTTAWA, January 31. The railway officials and mounted police state that the wreck of Mr Cosgrave’s train at Limoges (Ontario) was due to an accident. One train passed oVer- the switch, which the President’s train jumped 45 minutes later. The fears of a plot have been dispelled, but the guard has been increased. —A. and N.Z. Cable. EXPLANATION OF ACCIDENT. OTTAWA, January 31. (Received Feb. 1, at 5.5 p.m.) It has been officially established that the wreck of the train on which Mr Cosgrave was travelling was due to a team of horses drawing a heavy logging sleigh bolting from a loading station. The sleigh runner jammed in the switch, and wedged it open. The train went through and became derailed. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
