GERMAN BANKER’S TERRIBLE 'ACT. WHOLE FAMILY WIPED OUT. (Pies* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright ) BERLIN, January 26. An unsigned letter received by the police in Gotha, beginning: “ Last night the banker, Droate, voluntarily left this arduous, irksome life, and took his family with him to the better beyond,’’ led to the discovery that the banker had shot 'his wife, his two little daughters, and himself. The letter referred to “ Black Friday,” May 13, on which date the .Bourse credit was drastically restricted. Droate’s liabilities are stated to amount to £25,000, but his assets have not yet been ascertained.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
