LIVERPOOL INCIDENT
REVOLVER AIMED AT DETECTIVE. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright ) LONDON, January 26. (Received Jan. 27, at 7 p.m.) The man who was arrested at Liverpool is William Kennedy, aged 40 years. Th© Liverpool police chief says that the couple left the house at midnight and had walked a few yards when they were spoken to by a detective, who immediately took hold of the man. A struggle ensued, and the man pointed a revolver at the detective. Following a struggle, the revolver was wrenched from his grasp. Twenty armed police in motor cars surrounded the house. The woman has been released.—A. and N.Z. Cable. A previous message stated that the police at Liverpool detained a man and woman in connection with the alleged theft of a motor car in London on January 21. Twenty detectives surrounded the hotel where the suspects were staying. The man, when confronted, allegedly whipped out a fully-loaded fivechambered revolver, but a detective struck the weapon out of his hand just as the trigegr was pulled, and the cartridge misfired. Developments are expected.
