LAWN TENNIS.
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the committee of the Otago Lawn Tennis Association was held last night. Mr A. M’Millan presided. It was left in the hands of Mr M’Dougall to arrange for some members to coach players in junior clubs during the month of February. Mr George Clark was asked to arrange for a team to visit South Otago. It was resolved to write to the Canterbury Association suggesting February 25 or March 3 as the date tor the OtagoCanterbury match at Christchurch. The secretary was instructed to write to the Southland Association asking it to suggest a date for the Otago-Southland match at Dunedin. The programme for the Easter tournament was drawn up. It was decided to include a ladies’ doubles championship. The association resolved to hold the M'Millan Cup Yorkel tournament on March 10 or March 17, according to the date chosen by Southland for the OtagoSouthland match. It was resolved to send a letter congratulating Miss Fleming on her success at the New Zealand championship tournament. Mr M’Millan reported that the Otago Harbour Board was making good progress with the work of filling in the court at Logan Park. It was hoped that a start might be made in the near future to lay down the courts. CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIPS. (Pee United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 27. The Canterbury lawn tennis championships were continued to-day in fine weather. C. Angas has .reached the final, and he will meet to-morrow the winner of the match Ivan Seay v. T. W. Patterson. In tlje women’s singles Miss Speirs and Mrs Beale meet in the final. In the men’s doubles Sheppard and Loughnan, who beat Seay and Browning 3—6, 6—3, 9—7, will meet in the final W. Goss and P. G. Greenwood or K. J. Walker and C. Angas.
