LAND VALUE TAXATION
ADVOCACY IN BRITAIN. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, January 25. (Received Jan. 26, at 9 p.m.) Advocating the taxation of land values Mr Philip Snowden, speaking at Hanley, said that if the value of land in Britain in proportion to the population were taken at only half New Zealand’s figure, a tax of 5d in the £ (the same rate as that imposed in Sydney) would produce £100,000,000.—A. and N.Z.
