THE ROYAL SHOW.
At a meeting of the committee of the Otago A. and P. Society yesterday, the secretary (Mr E. F. Dutnie) submitted a report of the minutes of the meeting of the Royal Show, at which there was a long discussion on the question of holding the Royal Show in the autumn. Nine breeders’ associations supported the autumn show, whilst three opposed it. Of the various agricultural associations throughout the Dominion 18 were in favour of an autumn show, whilst 13 opposed it. It was ultimately decided that the committee of the Royal Society should meet the committees of the Manawatu and Canterbury A. and P. Associations to discuss the most suitable time to hold the Royal Show, the advisability of holding these shows at the two centres only and the arrangements to be made for holding future shows on their respective grounds.
