A MENACE TO SOCIETY.
TWELVE MONTHS IN GAOL. (Fee United Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ January 26. Phyllis Back, who on Saturday escaped from the local lock-up, was recaptured yesterday, and sentenced this morning to 12 months’ imprisonment for having no lawful visible means of support. The accused created a scene in court, and had to be forcibly removed. A lengthy record of previous convictions was detailed by the police sergeant, who described Back as a menace to society.
