EXPORT TRADE FIGURES. HEAVY INCREASE IN BUTTER. (Special to Daily Times.) WELLINGTON, January 26. Some interesting figures relating to the present season's export trade were presented at the monthly meeting of the Dairy Export Board to-day. The position with respect to butter is that all stores are cleared to every box available for shipment. The statement on this point is as under: — * Auckland. —The Tamaroa sailed from Auckland on January 21. and there was not sufficient available to fill the space allocated; there were approximately 3000 boxes short. , , ... Wellington.—The Athcnic is loading now, and will be sailing finally on January 28, clearing all butter available Irom Patea, Wanganui, and Wellington. New Plymouth was cleared to January 0 grading, and the Port Caroline loads direct at New Plymouth in the first week in February, lifting 24,000 boxes, which will be all available. South Island. —All stores are practically cleared, except for butter which is being held back by factories. The Port Caroline is now loading in the South Island, working north, and will all stores of everything available at Bluff, Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton. . . This season’s figures are likely to be increased owing to the “ carry over ” of butter shipped to Halifax and New York on optional bills of lading. The arrivals of cheese shipments in Great Britain to the end of January this season will be 384,228 crates, compared with 359,041 crates last season, an increase of 25,187 crates. To the end of March the total arrivals for this season will be 691,065 crates, as against 594,883 crates last season, an increase of 96,182 crates.
