HALF MILE TO LINDSAY. MISS STOCKLEY BREAKS BACK STROKE RECORD. FOURTH DAY’S CONTESTS. The Now Zealand swimming championships were continued at the Municipal Baths last night, and the session was again well attended, about ICOG spectators watching the events with the keenest interest. The, race of ttie evening was undoubtedly the Half-mile Men's Championship, m which the title and record-holder for the distance, D. P. Lindsay, defended his championship. From the outset it could be seen that the final interest would not lie in whether the champion would win, but how much he would win by. After the next two laps the chief interest in the race centred in the battle for second place, which was being fought out among M'Donald, • Low, and Goughian. Gallate’e long, even stroke continued to take him ahead, and over the last 100 yards he was never extended, and won by 18 yards.
